Start bare and dry
Measure clean nails with no polish, oil or hand cream — a slippery surface throws the reading off.
Find the widest point
The widest part of the nail sits around the middle of your nail, sidewall to sidewall — not at the tip.
Measure across in millimetres
Lay a soft tape or a thin strip of paper across that widest point, following the natural curve without flattening it, and read the width in mm. For paper, mark both sidewalls and measure against a ruler.
Do all ten
Measure every finger on both hands — left and right rarely match exactly, and thumbs are usually widest.
Note the size
Write down each nail's width in millimetres — all five fingers on both hands. There's no size chart to match against; your millimetre measurements are exactly what we make each set to.
Choose your shape and length
Select from Stiletto, Almond, Oval, Square, Coffin or Round, and a length that varies from 1cm to 3.5cm. The length you choose is the maximum length of the set and applies across all shapes.
Send us your measurements
DM your ten measurements to @teanails.au on Instagram and we'll size your set for you. Include your order name so we can match it up.
Avoid
- Don't measure at the tip or the cuticle — you'll read too narrow or too wide.
- Don't measure straight after oil, lotion or a hot shower.
- Don't guess all ten from one finger.
A note on fit
Because each set is made on demand to your measurements, opened sets can't be exchanged for fit — so it's worth measuring carefully before you order.
